“Some glad morning when this life is o’er, I’ll fly away; To a home on God’s celestial shore, I’ll fly away.”

So we sing, and so we believe. But where is God’s celestial shore? And what will this home actually be like? What does the Bible say about this place called Heaven?

Senior Adult Bible Study

September 23-25, from 9:00-11:00 am (followed by lunch) we will have a special study to consider our glorious hope in heaven—what to expect when we arrive, and how to live expectantly until that day. We will be guided by author and speaker Randy Alcorn through his DVD recordings. We will look at material from his bestselling book “Heaven” and discuss what the Bible actually reveals about this amazing place. Sign up in the Connection Center, and come join us for this exciting study on Heaven!

Three Goals for Our Study

  1. Perspective: We want God’s Word to shape our perspective on eternal realities so that as we live our lives now we might do so more intentionally—on our journey to our true home, Heaven.
  2. Passion: We want the truth of what God has promised to fill us with overflowing joy and longing to be with Him, and for others to be with Him too.
  3. Peace: We want to understand and live according to what is true, so that as we consider the reality of death (both our own and others) we can honor God by finding our hope and peace in Him.

John 14:1–3

“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
