It’s almost Thanksgiving! Which means the Christmas season is nearly upon us too! It truly is one of my favorite times of year. While I don’t necessarily like the short days, or the (sometimes) freezing cold weather, I do love the celebration, the remembering, the rejoicing! Christians have so much to give thanks for and so many reasons to praise the God-Man born in Bethlehem.
On December 5 at 6 pm we will have a churchwide Christmas celebration—“Light of the World.” This time will be led by our children, youth, and adult choir. It will be very family friendly, but childcare will also be available for children age 3 and under.
I hope you’ll make plans to come, and to invite family, friends, and neighbors. Our two goals for this celebration are to praise God for his perfect plan of salvation, and to reach out to non-Christians (in your life!) who just might be most likely to come to a church service at Christmas, or at least to hear your child sing!
Jesus Is the Light of the World, and So Are You!
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16
How Can You Be Involved?
- Pray for God to be exalted, and to change hearts through this time.
- Invite neighbors, friends, family to come on December 5.
- Plan to come and praise God for His Son Jesus!
