The world and everything in it

If there has ever been a time people are engaged in the news, it’s today. I can’t believe how many times I find myself looking at my phone and reading about what’s happening in the world. It’s as if the news intersects with every inch of our lives nowadays! And there’s plenty of it…

From the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s credible, compelling and complete coverage to 95.5 Atlanta’s News and Talk, we have plenty of local news—not to mention a plethora of national news sources like Fox, CNN, Rush Limbaugh, and the USA Today. Even though we have plenty of news, we barely have any news based on a biblical worldview.

A biblical worldview means that we look at the world through the lens of the Bible. Just like eyeglasses can bring far-away objects into focus for someone who is nearsighted, news grounded in facts and biblical truth allow followers of Jesus to be informed about what is happening in God’s world and to know how to appropriately respond.

One biblically-based news source I highly recommend is the World News Group. With a rich history, the World News Group today produces a bi-weekly print and digital magazine, a magazine designed for children, a magazine designed for teenagers, a journalism institute for aspiring journalist, and a daily news podcast called, “The World and Everything in It.”

With biblically objective journalism at its core, “The World and Everything in It” offers a daily, half hour fast-paced news summary, followed by longer stories, interviews, and reports from WORLD journalists, as well as thoughtful commentary and original feature journalism reported from the field.

You can subscribe for free using your favorite podcast app such as iTune, Google Podcasts, TuneIn Radio, CastBox, or Stitcher. For additional help, call 828-435-2981 or email [email protected].

As we consider what news sources we listen to and trust, I invite you to heed Prime Minister Abraham Kuyper’s words when he noted 140 years ago, “There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry, Mine!” May we remember that one of those “square inches” is news!
